DESCRIPTION
5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) is a precursor to serotonin, a brain neurotransmitter associated with the feeling of wellbeing. It helps curb cravings, improves mood, and, because of its conversion to melatonin, helps with sleep.
5-HTP Plus is a synergistic formula of 5-hydroxytryptophan (50 mg) and vitamin B6 (10 mg). 5-HTP readily enters the blood brain barrier, however conversion into serotonin requires the cofactor vitamin B6, which is included in this formula.
5-HTP Plus may be used during the day to support healthy mood or appetite or at bedtime to support sleep.

The precursor to serotonin, 5-hydroxytryptophan is derived from the seed of the African plant Griffonia simplicifolia. 5-HTP has been shown to support patients with mild mood changes, occasional restless sleep, and periodic, mild anxiety.
Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate (P-5-P), the activated form of vitamin B6, is included in this formula to support overall neurotransmitter metabolism.
